holiday haven

Holiday Haven is a photographic series documenting holiday parks along the east coast of Australia. These communal spaces—familiar to many, yet often overlooked—offer a glimpse into coastal leisure, family traditions, and the subtle rhythms of life on pause.

What intrigued me most was the quiet contradiction embedded in the architecture. Many of these holiday homes were originally designed for movement—caravans, trailers, and mobile homes built for the road. Yet in these parks, they’ve been extended, enclosed, and anchored in place. Verandahs have been added, gardens planted, fences built. What was meant to be temporary has become permanent.
